Stehlin Foundation for Cancer Research was founded in 1969 by Dr. John S. Stehlin, Jr. – a brilliant surgical oncologist with empathy for his patients and a vision to combine research and medicine to improve cancer treatment.
Dr. Stehlin recruited and worked along side a talented group of researchers and clinical staff to develop novel therapies and procedures that would change the lives of people with cancer forever. Dr. Stehlin retired from practice in 2002, but his legacy of compassionate care is as active as ever.
Today, CHRISTUS Stehlin Foundation continues to advance human cancer research in a world class laboratory. Its purpose is to conduct cancer research that can be applied directly to improving patient treatment. All Foundation research is clinically oriented.
Through exciting breakthroughs in cancer drug development and treatment, Dr. Stehlin’s vision lives on.
